Since June 2010, the Foundation for the Promising Children of Haiti, Inc. (FPCH), has been struggling to provide beds for the orphans living in our orphanage in Haiti. They were sleeping on a piece of carpet. By the grace of God, Mission SECOURS ISLAMIQE FRANCE (SIF) provided beds so each orphan can have a bed in which to sleep. This new project represents a lot to the orphan children.

We want to thank SECOURS ISLAMIQUE FRANCE (SIF) for helping us achieve our mission. We are calling on other organizations and individuals to join us in our efforts to help the poor children in Haiti, so they can live better tomorrow.

Donate now to help kids in need!

Foundation for Promising Children of Haiti has over 30 poor kids waiting for help because they need food, filtered water, clothes, shoes, health care and education. Many poor children in Haiti die every single day from malnutrition. They are not able to find even one meal per day to survive.

The situation in Haiti is critical, especially for these kids who don’t have any support. There are so many demands, so little resources. FPCH is dedicated to helping the children in need but, unfortunately, because of our limited resources, we are not able to take these needy children into our orphanage at this time.

With such limited resources, it has become even more difficult to provide food, filtered water, shoes, clothes, medical care and education for the needy children we already have. We’ve already had to transfer some kids from our orphanage to another orphanage, just because we cannot provide them the basic daily needs.

We are asking you to be a part of a needy child’s life. We count on your support, because without your help FCPH cannot provide for their needs.

Donate today! Please! Any donation will be appreciated!

Thank you!

January 12th, 2010 - a date that reminds us of a huge catastrophic event that took place in Haiti. It was around 4:53 pm when a sudden and violent shaking of the ground began. One of the largest earthquakes ever struck Haiti and caused much destruction, including lost of multiple lives. The earthquake was recorded to a magnitude of 7.8 and mainly affected Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti.

The entire world was in shock and in denial. No one could believe that something so horrific was happening to a poor country like Haiti. Indeed, no one would ever forget this moment, especially the people of Haiti. On that day, so many people lost their lives, and many others were disoriented. And tragically, small children were left to fend for themselves. Many children were orphaned by this tragic incident. Can you imagine the chaos that was fuming around the capital of Haiti that night? They were all in tears, sobbing and screaming for help.

Top: Johnny, Esthere Bottom: Edlene, Jimmy (Angelika not shown)

Amidst the suffering children were five children with the same last name (Joseph). Their entire family disappeared during the earthquake. Jimmy Joseph is the oldest at fourteen years old, Johnny Joseph is twelve years old, Edlene Joseph is ten years old, Esthere Joseph is seven years old and Angelika Joseph is four years old.

Two days after the earthquake, FPCH was out on the streets of port Au Prince Haiti, to help the injured people when we found these five kids sobbing and waiting for someone to help and take care of them. They were so relieved when we took them in from the streets. Since January 2010, they have been living in our orphanage with the other orphans kids. They were so happy because they have a place to live, a chance to go to school, somewhere to play, someone to take care of them, and to love them as well.

Even prior to the earthquake, life was extremely difficult for them and the Joseph family because they were living in the very poor neighborhood call Cite Soleil. They only had enough to eat one meal per day. Everyone in the neighborhood was as poor as their family. Almost every night they went to bed on empty stomachs, hoping they made it through the night, and used every survival technique they knew in order for them to get through life.

It is never an easy task to provide for orphans and disabled kids. Every day we are trying our best to make life as good as it can be for FPCH kids. Every day we receive more phone calls from people who would like us to take other kids who are in the same situation. Sadly, Our orphanage is not large enough to provide shelter for them all.

There are so many kids as needy as Jimmy, Johnny , Edlene , Esthere and Angelika. They need somebody to provide daily care for them . Our arms are always wide open to everyone who wants to provide help. We have great challenges in front of us, and together we can overcome these challenges. It is possible with your help, where there is a will, there is always a way. Let us join our hands together for a common cause to stop the suffering of Haitian kids.
