Some people are born disabled; others become disabled as a result of an accident or disease. And in the case of young Githo, a disease call Typhoid Fever caused him to become disabled at an early age.
Githo was born in an inner city call Croix-des-missions, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Tragically he lost the person who used to care for him, his Mother. However, care was still continued to be provided to him and his siblings by his grandmother. Things were quite difficult for him at that time. Then, a couple years later, death struck again; his grandmother died and Githo’s sole provider was no longer around. After that, Githo became disoriented and helpless. With the grace of God FPCH was able to step in to help him in his greatest time of need.
When we founded him, he was overwhelmed with sadness. We were shocked to see him in this devastating state. But the surprising thing was when he saw us; he ran to us and cried out for help because he had no one to care for him, to love him and cherish him . He was looking for love. We also saw the goodness shine from Githo’s heart right away when he asked us to help him. He was so happy when we took him as a part of our family.
It pleased us to see him sing the glory to God everyday because of the way his life changed once we took him in. His hopes grow higher day by day with the support he has was receiving from FPCH. By now Githo has grown up on us, but before he was a little young handicap boy when we started to help him.
It was because of Githo that we realize how many children living in Haiti and the other poor countries are in need of our help. So, from that point on, we have been looking for people like you who are willing to step into the lives of these children and become a part of “our family.”
All around the world there are lonely and hurting kids that need some one to help them, to love them and to care for them like Githo … Today The Foundation for the promising children of Haiti, Inc. is asking you for you to help heal the hurt in Haiti. We count on your generous donations to provide for the children and to give them the opportunity to have a better living for tomorrow.
